Day 1

Thursday July 22, 2010

As part of my journey to embark on the studies, I have renounced my time wasting tactics on Facebook for a trial run of one week. I was wasting much too much time online. I have also not recharged my tata sky recharge as yet. I don't intend to do it anytime soon, the reasons for which will be cited in the following paragraphs.

My process, which will be defined in due course includes a multi-pronged approach to excellence.

1. Remove all distractions that obscure my vision to the goal ie a high GMAT score and CAT score

2. Knowing the enemy ie knowing the portions to focus on and mastering each sub-area to the very best of my abilities.

3. Focus: To focus all my energies on mastering the process (as opposed to the results)

4. Practice: An insane amount of practice, minimum of 3 hrs daily and a maximum of 8 hrs a day, will train me well enough to build the stamina of writing long exams. It will also help in increasing my accuracy score.

5. Revision: of formulae and concepts.

6. Incentive: I will motivate myself by making my habit of smoking guide me. I love smoking. I intend to smoke a cigarette before the prep begins and only take a break for a smoke break after 2 hours of studying. I have to earn my smokes and that will be my motivation to continue.

I will tweak this strategy as I discover better ways to improve it in the future. For now, this is it.

Now to hit the books. I will post the number of QnA I've solved in the following post for the day.

The battle cry has been sounded.
